The Tour is returning to Baltimore!!!
Returning to Baltimore (Wednesday, July 6) is great news. After running tour stops in inner city Baltimore the first two years of the tour, Potter Baseball reconnects with the area. We feel Holabird Academy is the perfect tour site for the 2016 tour.
Coach Potter is partnering with some very passionate teachers of the school who believe in the Potter baseball message... teaching life lessons to people, especially kids.
The teachers are Andy Canterna, Brain Baker, and Ethan Glemaker. They are so passionate about this project that they selected student Josh Martinez to represent their school on this 26 day tour.
The Potter Tour is excited about returning to Broadneck (Sunday, July 10) for the fifth consecutive year, and a special thanks goes out to Jeff Mahler and all of his hard work and support the last several years through the Broadneck Baseball program.
With the use of Arnold Park, we will combine baseball with many other activities to create a real FUN Day. Come out and join us by participating in our own 5k walk, yoga, "crazy golf", and a fundraising dinner catered by Three Brothers Restaurant of Odenton.
All proceeds from the day will go to Cure Search (www.curesearch.org)
In 2014 the tour was introduced to Chesapeake (Friday, July 1) and the wonderful people at Deep Creek Baseball. We returned in 2015, and yes... we will once again go back for another great experience this summer.
Come out and help welcome the 2016 Potter baseball tour to town, and help them kick off their very first day of baseball on the tour.
The tour team will be arriving late in the afternoon, and will immediately go into "baseball mode" and run a clinic for the area kids, and then follow that up with a fun pick up game.
Four kids on the tour have played in the Deep Creek Baseball organization, and we are very excited to start the tour at this location.
For the 7th consecutive year the tour will be in the town of Frederick(Friday, July 8, Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12). It has been a great "run" here, working with The Frederick American Little League, the Arc of Frederick, The Frederick National League, Special Olympics, The Frederick Keys, The Frederick Potter Pirates, and the Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) ... among others.
To sign up for the Clinic and/or Luncheonat the Frederick Keys, please click here.
As soon as we arrived at the Willing Warriors complex in Haymarket (Friday, July 8, Saturday, July 9) last year we realized this would not only be a long term tour partnership, but we knew that we wanted to work together year round for such an awesome cause.
We feel blessed to be returning to the Bull Run facility in 2016 and we have some big plans for our weekend there. We will spend the two days there doing community service, with the focus on a small water area in the back of the property which will be proudly named "Potter's Pond".
For more information about this incredible organization check their website... www.willingwarriors.org
Stephen "Bards" Bardsley has become one of the biggest supporters of The Potter Baseball Tour, and Kent Island (Tuesday, July 5) will serve as a great tour stop.
We will arrive at Terrapin Nature Park at noon where we will combine walking /hiking /geocaching/with a fun lunch being incorporated into the festivities. The day will end with a tour game at Love Point Park.
Please check out the awesome website of Mr. Bardsley
The town of Manchester (Thursday, July 7) was introduced to the tour in July 2014 and it was an immediate success. Over 40 kids from the Manchester Baseball Association came out to the park to take part in a clinic, followed by an exciting tour game.
In 2015 the tour returned for another great day, and we are more excited than ever to impact even more individuals in 2016.
Along with the baseball, we will also be running a food drive for Lazurus Church, along with spending a few hours at a local day care working with the kids.
Virginia Beach (Saturday, July 2, Sunday, July 3) has been part of the Potter tour since 2011. Rick Wright of Virginia Beach Little League thought it sounded good for his organization, and now five years later we still head to the VBLL for a great time.... every year.
The Potter Baseball Tour will spend their time this summer partnering with VBLL with an event--filled day on Saturday. The day will start with community service at the park, before a day of baseball, and then ending with a movie at night on the field.
On Sunday the tour team will participate in a kick ball tournament, with proceeds going to the Samaritan House of Virginia Beach.
